Your family is invited to help redesign the NES schoolyard!
Dear NES Families,
Newbury Elementary School and the NES PTA are embarking on an exciting project to improve the school grounds for the benefit of all.
A designer from Play by Design, a company that helps communities build their own playgrounds, is coming to NES on September 29th. She will talk with students throughout the morning, and that evening at 7pm, their ideas will come to life when a plan for the playground is revealed. We also need help from you – we are asking you and your student (s) to imagine your dream playground. Please draw it on the other side of this page and submit it by September 25th to your teacher. The designer will gain inspiration from these drawings and will use them to guide her design. Need inspiration? Visit Play By Design’s Facebook page or website www.playbydesignonline.com.
How can you help NES Grow Real Opportunities for Wonderment in the Schoolyard? First, have your student (s) draw a picture on the reverse side. Second, bring your student (s) to watch the unveiling of the design at the NES auditorium on Monday, September 29th at 7pm. This will be a fun celebration that highlights the students’ input. In order to keep costs low, we’re using a community build model – which means it will require a great deal of sweat equity, but the rewards will be indescribable. Our goal is to renovate the schoolyard by next fall and hope for the support of NES families and the greater Newbury community. See you at Design Day Celebration: September 29th, 7pm in the auditorium!
Light snacks will be provided. Thank you!
